There was a time when I was obsessed with that lit-from-within look. The kind that makes people ask, “What’s on your skin?” not because it’s flawless, but because it glows.
That’s what led me to the Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum in 2023. And later, as a new mum trying to love my skin again, I gave its sister product, the Glow Serum, a proper go too.
Here’s how both serums worked out for me.
Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum Review
Around 2023, I was looking for a serum to brighten my complexion and help smooth out my skin’s texture. I didn’t want anything harsh, just something gentle and effective. I stumbled across the Glow Deep Serum (Arbutin + Rice), and it quickly became my skin’s quiet savior.

The bottle is simple and elegant, frosted glass with a minimalist aesthetic that feels clean and calm, like most of Beauty of Joseon’s line.
The texture is lightweight and watery, but not runny. It sinks in quickly, leaving no tackiness behind.
Key Ingredients
- Arbutin – Known for its brightening properties. It helps fade dark spots and even out skin tone.
- Rice Bran Water – A traditional Korean ingredient packed with amino acids and antioxidants to soften and nourish the skin.
My Experience
I used this serum consistently and started getting compliments, people noticed how glowy my skin looked, which hadn’t happened in a while. My complexion looked clearer and more even-toned, and my skin just felt healthier overall. I kept using it all the way through to my pregnancy (a bonus: it’s pregnancy-safe).
If your skin is feeling dull, uneven, or just tired-looking, this is a brilliant option. It’s great for sensitive skin too, no tingling or redness, just a calm, subtle brightening over time.
This serum really delivered for me, especially when my skin wasn’t dealing with major hormonal changes. It’s a staple I’d go back to whenever I want to boost radiance gently and safely.

Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum Review
After giving birth, I was on a mission to repair my skin barrier and bring some life back to my face. The Glow Serum (Propolis + Niacinamide) promised hydration and radiance, a no-brainer for postpartum skin that felt dull, tired, and dehydrated.
Similar to its sister serum, the packaging is clean and functional. The serum itself is slightly thicker and more nourishing. It feels cushiony on the skin, like a soft drink of water.

Key Ingredients
- Propolis Extract – A soothing, antioxidant-rich ingredient known to support barrier repair and calm inflammation.
- Niacinamide – This is one of my favourite ingredients! It helps with brightening, oil control, and overall skin resilience.
My Experience
In the beginning, I loved how this made my skin feel, hydrated, comforted, and smooth. I alternated it with the Glow Deep Serum, hoping to get the best of both worlds.
But over time (after about a month or so), I didn’t really see much change in my skin. No big glow-up moments, no noticeable fading of spots or improvement in texture. It just kind of plateaued.
Maybe it was my hormones? Postpartum skin can be unpredictable. Or maybe my skin just didn’t vibe with this one as much. Either way, it felt like something was missing.
If you’re after a gentle hydrating serum that calms the skin, this might be worth trying. But if you’re expecting visible brightening or texture improvements, you might be left wanting more, especially if your skin is going through hormonal shifts like I am.
While I wanted to love this serum, it didn’t wow me the way Glow Deep did. It’s a nice comfort serum, but for me, it didn’t stand out as a glow-giver.
That said, if you’re dealing with barrier repair and want something soft and non-irritating, it might still be worth a shot.

Would I Repurchase?
- Glow Deep Serum – Yes. It’s still one of my favourite gentle brightening serums.
- Glow Serum – Probably not right now, but I wouldn’t rule it out completely. It might shine more for someone else—or even for me on a different skin journey.
Have you tried either of these serums? I’d love to hear your experience, especially if one of them worked (or didn’t work) for you. Sometimes it’s just about timing and skin needs, isn’t it?
