I’ve been a long-time fan of Beauty of Joseon. Their Glow Deep Serum and Relief Sun SPF have become constants in my routine, especially now that I’m back to using their Relief Sun every day (yay!)
So, when I saw they were launching a tinted sunscreen earlier this year, I was genuinely excited. As a working mum of a toddler, the idea of having coverage and protection in one step sounded perfect for my hectic mornings.
In this post, I’ll be sharing my honest Beauty of Joseon Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen review after testing the shade LP100 on my dry, sensitive skin during long work shifts.
Why I Bought Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen
Around March this year, I came across Beauty of Joseon’s announcement post on Instagram.
Coincidentally, I’ve been meaning to get something quick and functional for work days when I barely have time to get ready. You know, when I just want to squeeze in five more minutes of sleep?
A tinted sunscreen seemed like the ideal solution, streamlined skincare and makeup in one step!
After a bit of research and using Beauty of Joseon’s shade matching tool (I wear Rimmel Match Perfection 200 Soft Beige for reference), I ordered shade LP100 a couple of days after its release because it was sold out.
It’s slightly lighter than my actual skin tone, but I found it manageable by layering: one thin layer first, then another after a few minutes to build it up.
First Impressions
The sunscreen arrived faster than I expected, especially since I ordered directly from Beauty of Joseon’s official site. I was so used to my orders coming after 2 weeks.
Anyway, the packaging is typical BOJ: minimal, practical, and aesthetically pleasing.
It dispenses cleanly, and the texture is a bit fluid, almost watery, so I always give it a good shake before applying. Actually, you need to shake it well before using, that’s the proper way.
I liked how it looked on the skin straight away. It gives a soft, slightly powdery finish—not overly dewy, not matte either. Just enough to even out the skin without making me look shiny, or an oily mess.

How It Wears During Work Days
I use this after my Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream in the morning. I don’t wear foundation or much makeup at work, just this, and a lip balm.
I’m usually up and moving for nearly 10 hours a day, rotating between procedure rooms and seeing patients. So I don’t really get to check my face except during lunch or loo breaks.
That’s when I started noticing pilling (excuse my messy brow). At first, I thought maybe it was just a one-off thing. But it kept happening, usually around my temples or where I’d layered the product.

So, I tried adjusting my routine:
- Waiting a couple more minutes between layers
- Using a lighter moisturiser
- Skipping Purito Wonder Releaf Centella Serum
- Double-checking my application method
Still, the pilling persisted. It’s not a lot, but it’s noticeable.
What I Found Out
I did some digging and discovered that this sunscreen is mineral-based (with 20.90% zinc oxide), and apparently, mineral SPFs are more prone to pilling than chemical ones.
That tracks, because I’ve never had this issue with the Relief Sun or even my Purito sunscreen.
I also learned that pilling can be triggered by things like:
- Layering too fast
- Not exfoliating enough
- Certain ingredients in your other products
The problem is, I do exfoliate regularly, and I’ve already simplified my routine.
At this point, it started to feel like I had to choose between using this tinted sunscreen or keeping my serums and essences in rotation.
And for me, the serums win.
Other Notes
Despite the pilling, there were a few things I did like:
- The finish: Not greasy, not cakey. Just smooth and natural.
- The texture: Light and fluid.
- The packaging: Practical, portable, and easy to use.
- The fact that it doesn’t contain niacinamide (great if your skin reacts to it). My skin likes it, but I know some people are sensitive to this ingredient, so you guys can check this out.
My Final Take
Sadly, this tinted sunscreen just didn’t work for me. I wanted to love it, and I still think the concept is solid, especially for busy mornings.
But in reality, the pilling became too frustrating for me, especially when I don’t have time to troubleshoot or reapply at work. I ain’t got time for that.
I might revisit this in the future, but for now, I’ll be sticking to my non-tinted sunscreens. Sometimes, a product just doesn’t click, and that’s okay.
I still love Beauty of Joseon, and this won’t be the last product I try from them. But when it comes to daily wear, I’m choosing what works with my routine (and my skin) right now.
