Hi, welcome to my blog!

I’m Mia—a registered nurse, freelance writer and blogger based in Hampshire, UK. I’m also a first-time mum, and someone who’s slowly finding her way back to feeling good in her skin.
Skin Darling was born during long, sleep-deprived nights, hormonal skin flare-ups, and figuring out how to feel good in my skin again during postpartum.
After giving birth, my skin changed. A lot. There were dry patches, clogged pores, breakouts, and just a general feeling of “What happened to my face?”
This blog is where I share what I’ve learned (and what I’m still figuring out).
Friendly reminder: I’m not a skincare expert or dermatologist. I’m just another woman navigating postpartum skin with curiosity, patience, and a soft spot for Asian skincare (particularly Korean and Japanese products).
Whether you’re here because your skin feels unfamiliar, you’re overwhelmed by all the products out there, or you just want simple, honest skincare tips, you’re in the right place.
What this blog is about
Skin Darling is a calm, no-pressure space for anyone who wants to care for their skin, especially if you’re feeling tired, confused, or feel like you can’t seem to connect with skin anymore. I write about my personal experiences, favourite products, products that aren’t exactly working for me, and the little things that are helping me feel more like myself again.
What this blog isn’t
Just be to be clear, I may be a registered nurse, but I’m not a skin specialist. Everything I share is based on personal experience—not professional or medical advice. If you have a specific skin concern, I always recommend checking in with a dermatologist or licensed professional.
A note on affiliate links
Some of the links on this blog are affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission if you make a purchase—at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I have personally tried and believe could help someone on a similar journey. Thank you for supporting Skin Darling!
