Postpartum skin is wild like that. And to be honest this is partly because I prioritised taking rest and my baby than doing my skincare routine.

When I felt like I was ready to get back to my routine, I started searching, sifting, testing and reading what others with sensitive skin were using. And over time, I found a handful of gentle, barrier-safe Korean cleansers that didn’t make things worse, but actually helped.

This was something I personally had to figure out. My skin used to be so low maintenance, never fussy, and barely reactive.
So when it suddenly started stinging after using a cleanser or serum I’d loved for years, I thought, “Wait… am I allergic to this now?” It felt a little unsettling.
Turns out, there’s a difference between sensitive skin and an allergic reaction, and understanding that helped me stop panicking every time something felt off.

You can’t really make sensitive skin go away. But through gentle skincare and a bit of professional support, it can be calmed, strengthened, and managed.
When my skin first flared up postpartum, I tried everything all at once (spoiler: it made things worse!) What actually helped was slowing down, giving my skin space to breathe, and really focusing on one thing: my skin barrier.
Once I started treating my barrier like the main character, choosing products that supported it, being picky with ingredients, and even giving my skin “rest days” with no actives—it slowly got better. Less redness. Less stinging. Just calmer, happier skin.
